Mission Plastic Surgery Moves to New Office
On July 9, 2010, Mission Plastic Surgery moved to its new location at 777 Corporate Drive, Suite 110 in the Ladera Ranch medical office building complex. The new office is diagonally across the street from the old location and easily accessible off the main lobby on the first floor of the building; parking is free. The brand new suite was built from an empty shell and is meant to provide a calm and relaxed environment for patients. The architect was Michael Hadley, construction by Mike Carney Construction, and interior design by Design Works.
Dr. Doezie Travels to Haiti to Help Earthquake Victims
On February 18th, Dr. Doezie traveled to Haiti with a group of doctors, nurses, and OR staff from Mission Hospital and Saddleback Hospital in Laguna Hills. The team of 19 people (including his wife!) spent a week treating Haitians still suffering with injuries and wounds from the massive earthquake that hit their country 6 weeks earlier. While there, most of Dr. Doezie’s waking hours were in the operating room treating leg and arm wounds with sutures, skin grafts, and muscle flaps. A total of 17 surgeries were performed over a four and a half day period, with Dr. Doezie operating right up until the time his van left for the airport. He stated, “Overall, it was an immensely gratifying and fulfilling experience to be able to serve truly destitute people who had so much need. My perspective and outlook on life were completely changed as a result of the experience and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.” Many thanks to our patients who allowed their surgeries to be postponed while Dr. Doezie traveled to Haiti!
Breast Reduction Possibly Covered by Insurance
If you suffer from back, neck and shoulder pain, bra strap notching, and rashes because of large breasts your insurance may cover a breast reduction procedure. Each insurance plan differs from patient to patient according to their plan type. After examination by Dr. Doezie, our office can submit a request for authorization and check on the patient’s benefits for insurance carrier coverage. If the insurance company deems the procedure medically necessary it will be authorized. Patients with insurance PPO plans other than what Dr. Doezie is contracted, will have to use their out-of-network benefits. This means that the insurance company will cover a smaller percentage than if the patient went to a preferred provider in their network. If authorization is given, patients who have Bristol Park HMO, Monarch HMO, or MHAP HMO insurances will be covered 100%.
Mission Plastic Surgery Announces New Office Location
Mission Plastic Surgery in Orange County will be moving office locations to accommodate their tremendous growth. From their new location, Dr. Doezie and his staff will be able to treat more patients considering cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. The facility will be equipped with two exam rooms and one procedure room. The new office is set to open in June 2010 and will be at building 777 suite 110 in Ladara Ranch. Until the announcement of our new office grand opening, we are located at 600 Corporate Drive in Ladera Ranch.
Areola Tattooing Available for Breast Cancer Patients
Mission Plastic Surgery is excited to announce that areola tattooing is now available in our office. Areola tattooing is the final step in the reconstruction process which can be done three to four weeks after your final surgery. Picking a color is completely up to each individual. Patients can mix pigments to try on their skin prior to the actual tattooing. Once the right color has been chosen topical numbing will be put on the area of skin around the nipple mound and be prepped for tattooing.
Before having the equipment, we referred our patients to cosmetic tattoo artists. Dr. Doezie M.D. FACS has recently decided to make completing the reconstruction process easier for all breast cancer patients by becoming a “one-stop-shop” where all of their needs are met. Dr. Doezie has done many of these procedures in the past and would like to continue completing patients’ reconstruction up to their final stage.
Tattooing can take up to three or four session depending on how dark the patient desires the color. At first the color is dark and then fades over the next month until it is time to have the procedure again.
Monarch, Bristol Park, and MHAP Contracted Provider
Dr. Doezie is contracted with Monarch Medical Group HMO insurance for all breast reconstruction cases, Bristol Park HMO and MHAP insurance for any case that is medically necessary (non-cosmetic). Patients simply need to call their primary care physicians (PCP) and request for an authorization to come to our office. Having an authorization as an HMO patient means our office will collect an office co pay and the remainder of the office visit will be billed to the insurance. Patients can call our office and ask us to check the status of any requested authorization
