Facial Rejuvenation

Model

With issues ranging from fine lines and wrinkles to sagging skin and volume loss, the face is the first place aging becomes apparent. Many people seek ways to improve their appearance as their age and environment combine to cause deviations in their youthfulness that they find displeasing. Fortunately, there are numerous options available to correct facial issues.

Facial rejuvenation interventions tend to operate on a sliding scale. On one end are the standard skin moisturizers you can pick up in any drug store or pharmacy. On the far other end are surgical procedures, such as the facelift, that can be more expensive but offer near-permanent results.

If you are looking for something in the middle, we offer many non-surgical options that provide the most significant rejuvenation without requiring facial enhancement surgery.

What Are the Benefits of Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Treatments?

Fast, Effective Results

Non-surgical treatments can be highly effective, providing high-quality results quickly. Many treatments start to show results within a day or two, and most reveal final results within a week. The results of non-surgical treatments provided by Dr. Doezie are tailored to match the desires of the patient.

Quick Recovery Time

Non-surgical treatments are ideal due to their lack of recovery time. Even a series of non-surgical injections rarely takes more than a day or two to recover from. In contrast, the recovery period for most surgical procedures is measured in weeks, and sometimes months.

Lasting Effects

The main advantage surgical techniques have is long-lasting results. However, non-surgical treatments can last for months with a single treatment, and some can be effective for up to two years. While this does not match surgical procedures in duration, non-surgical treatments are very effective if you are willing to maintain them with repeated sessions.

What Are My Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Options?

Facial Fillers

Dr. Doezie offers multiple brands of dermal fillers (including JUVÉDERM® and RADIESSE®) designed to address concerns in specific areas of the face. Each facial filler can address some combination of wrinkles, volume loss, and fine lines. Many dermal fillers, such as Sculptra® Aesthetic, will increase collagen and elastin production in your skin cells to make your skin more elastic and youthful.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is designed to prevent wrinkles from forming on the forehead and browline by inhibiting the muscle movements that create wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic injections can smooth out existing wrinkles and highlight your youthful contour. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a dermal filler, and it will not restore volume.

KYBELLA®

KYBELLA® is an injectable treatment that targets and dissolves submental fat (beneath the chin). This non-surgical treatment reduces or eliminates the pesky appearance of a double chin for a more elegant and defined jawline and neck.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a non-invasive treatment that uses light energy to even out discolored skin and remove scars or other blemishes. It may show results after only two or three sessions (faster than comparable laser treatments) with a recovery that usually occurs within the first eight hours. This is a treatment that can easily be performed on a lunch break or after work with no negative impacts the next day.

Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Concerns

Because the range of treatments within the non-surgical category is so broad, the following information is an overview. This information may not be entirely accurate for your specific treatment. Speak with your doctor before your non-surgical rejuvenation to ensure you have the most accurate information.

Recovery

Most non-surgical treatments result in swelling that can last anywhere from a day to a week and a half. Most treatments tend to be on the shorter side of that range, but there are no guarantees. Most patients can return to work immediately after the treatment. Your provider will let you know if you will be required to take any time off work and your daily obligations.

Pain

Most non-surgical injections are administered with the use of local anesthesia to reduce the pain. Some injectables, like JUVÉDERM®, contain lidocaine to eliminate the need for an additional anesthetic. After the procedure, you may experience minor pain and swelling for up to seven days.

Cost

The cost of non-surgical treatments is usually much cheaper than your surgical options per treatment. Each non-surgical treatment is priced differently. To get an accurate cost, consult your doctor when you determine which treatment(s) you are interested in.

Scars

A significant advantage of non-surgical treatments is the lack of scarring. Non-surgical injections or IPL treatments rarely leave any scars.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a type of neuromodulator injection designed to paralyze or “freeze” targeted muscles to inhibit wrinkle formation. It is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures of all time and remains exceedingly popular today.

What is the difference between dermal fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromodulator, which means it affects your muscles. Dermal fillers consist of hyaluronic acid (JUVÉDERM®), calcium hydroxylapatite (RADIESSE®), or poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra® Aesthetic), which usually causes an increase in tissue volume and elastin production. They are both used to treat wrinkles, but do so in different ways. Dermal fillers fill in wrinkles by expanding your facial volume. BOTOX® Cosmetic prevents dynamic (expression causing) wrinkles from forming and allows existing wrinkles to heal over time.

When will I see my final results from dermal fillers?

Initial results may be visible anywhere from immediately to a week after injection, depending on the brand and amount of filler used. Final results will become apparent somewhere between two weeks to six months after treatment, varying based on the factors mentioned earlier.

What is the best non-surgical treatment for wrinkles?

If you are looking for wrinkle prevention, BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the best options on the market. It is ideal for preventing wrinkle formation in the forehead and between the eyebrows. If you have already developed wrinkles and are looking to remove them on lower regions of your face, dermal fillers are ideal. They can fill in existing wrinkles and stimulate collagen production to help ensure that wrinkles do not return as fast.

Are injectable fillers permanent?

No. Injectable fillers will last between two months and two years, depending on the amount used, areas treated, and the chosen brand. However, should you maintain periodic injections, your results will be effectively permanent, as new injections will maintain your current results.

Does IPL stimulate collagen?

Yes, IPL does stimulate collagen production, which can help tighten your skin. It is not the primary aim of the treatment, so skin tightening is more of a happy side effect of removing blemishes and discolored skin. Still, a beneficial side effect that can reduce your need for further treatment down the line is nothing to be discarded.
